Okay, so I was hanging out at NoobToob today and someone asked the forum what people's favorite RPGs were that werent Final Fantasy. Well i decided to sit down and think about exactly which RPGs ive played. it was just so nice, i had to post it here
fallouts 1 and 2
Earthbound
secret of mana
chronotrigger
everquest 1 and 2
KOTOR 1
oblivion (if that counts)
dungeons and dragons
d20s of various kinds
most legends of zelda
tales of phantasia
super mario rpg
kingdom hearts 1 and 2 (does this count? probably not..)
champions of norrath 1 and 2
lotr the third age
mario and luigi partners in time
asherons call
baldurs gate 1
betrayal at krondor
diablo 1 and 2
fable
guildwars
icewind dale
jade empire
might and magic 6 - 8
neverwinter nights
pool of radiance
temple of elemental evil
vampire the masquerade
lost magic
now keep in mind i only have beaten about 25 of those, (yes i counted) and while quite a few of those cant be beaten (like mmorpgs or pen and paper games) this does reduce my list by quite a bit. plus there are a few on there that i didnt even like, so didnt play for long, like vampire and KOTOR. but for the most part, ill play any RPG i can get my fingers on. i didnt have much trouble with the non final fantasy condition, because ive only played 2 and only liked 1. so meh?
Noobtoob updated today, and this is seriously my favorite episode yet. they pump The Very Excellent Game Psychonauts and shake a finger at terrible JRPGs! seriously, an hour excellently spent for any gamer.
Youtube hosts NoobToob. and so shall I. Tobin, if this is bad, just let me know!
For those of you who don't know, Noobtoob is an awesome gamer podcast made by.. *gasp* people who actually PLAY video games. no longer must you listen to the weak alway-positive reviews of stores and magazines that want you to actually Buy them. so, this is last weeks episode, my youtube serach couldnt get todays, but im working on it.
okay, so i've been terribly delinquent in my blogging. well, ive been in boise for a couple weeks now, and im going back to pocatello on tuesday or wednesday next week. I've really loved my time here which ive spent doing next to absolutely nothing.
First, i need to talk about all the stuff ive recently acquired. at the white bag of gifts exchange, i received a box of dnd miniatures and yet more dice. (!) i contributed my favorite movie, pride and prejudice and an AD&D Unearthed Arcana, which i misinformed Piscis to be a dungeon masters manual, and have still yet to give to him. sorry bud. At the very same game night, Piscis also gave me the critically acclaimed Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. noobtoob says its easily one of their top 3 favorite DS games ever, and that means it freaking rocks hard. my brother traded me his 360 for my ds for the week however, so ive yet to sink my teeth into the vampires. Thanks alot Piscis!
For the jolly holiday itself, i got a 5 megapixel digital camera (poloroid) and very expensive luggage from my parents. I also got replacement shoes for the boots i lost. Theyre merrels and i like them very much. My elder brother gave me the extremely insightful gift The Quintessential Dwarf, which i immediately put into use in the campaign he and i started playing together this evening.
Ernie was very excellently great and gave to me an exclusive portrait of sir edward wobblington, as well as some portraits of myself that my neice described as making me look naked. but im not. so dont worry. she also got my favorite watch fixed which was thoughtful and unexpected.
in general news for those of you who dont regularly see me, i got a 4.0 last semester and made my mother very quite happy. i've been offered an intern position with the school somehow managing communities of incoming freshmen on secondlife, a digital world where people can be digital things and do digital stuff that can be done digitally. ... instead of for reals. yes ive been chosen. yes i know it rocks. thank you.
I hope everyone had a most excellent holiday and got some high lvl magic loot. lvl bust through the new year!
